American Resources Corporation (NASDAQ:AREC) has announced it is progressing towards the commercialization of its rare earth element (REE) electrolysis processing technology. The company has procured supplemental equipment to enhance the functionality of the 2kW mobile electrolytic cell REE processing plant currently in the build phase in conjunction with its sponsored research partner Texas Tech University. American Resources said the supplemental equipment includes a high-performance microwave digestion system that works with inductively coupled plasma – optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) equipment. The equipment allows the company to break down and analyze in real-time the REE analysis in various fly ash samples and other feedstock that will then be processed and evaluated to determine the most accretive sites to send its electrolysis processing plant post-build.

Ximen Mining Corp (CVE:XIM) (FRA:1XMA) (OTCQB:XXMMF) has told investors that it plans to assess the resource potential of the tailings from the formerly producing Wilcox gold mine, near the town of Nelson, British Columbia. The mine generated high-grade gold and processed around 14,555 tonnes between 1900 and 1940 and Ximen’s claims near Ymir cover its tailings deposit. A report in 2005 estimated the tonnage of the tailings to be 12,387 tonnes with an average grade of 3.09 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, based on assays of 65 samples collected on a grid pattern. The in-situ gold potential was estimated at 1,230 ounces.

The mineral exploration company has staked a total of 996 claims over 24,900 hectares, which are strategically located and contiguous to First Mining Gold, Sokoman Minerals-Benton joint venture, and Marvel Discovery Corp. First Cobalt Corp (CVE:FCC) (OTCQX:FTSSF) has said it is on schedule to have its recommissioned battery materials hydrometallurgical refinery north of Toronto complete in 4Q 2022. The First Cobalt Refinery facility operated from 1996 to 2015, producing cobalt, nickel, copper and silver products. The company is currently expanding the facility and modifying the flow sheet to refine third-party cobalt hydroxide intermediate product into high purity, battery grade cobalt sulfate suitable for the electric vehicle market. The low carbon footprint facility remains on schedule for commissioning at which time it will become the only refiner of battery-grade cobalt sulfate in North America and the second-largest outside of China.
Essex Minerals Inc (CVE:ESX) (FRA:EWX1) announced positive new results from its sampling program along the Drummer Fault on its Mt Turner gold project in Australia. The junior explorer said it had sampled up to 14.45 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 11.6 g/t silver at the site, confirming the presence of “highly anomalous” gold and silver mineralization in portions where the fault is exposed over at least 14.5 kilometres (km) of the 19km long strike length.

The output represented the company’s first full quarter of production, increasing by 133%, or 2,075 gold equivalent ounces, from 1Q 2021. “We completed the planned ramp-up of production during the second quarter, and after the regrind mill was installed at the end of April, plant throughput averaged over 500 tonnes per day in May and June combined,” Golden Minerals Company CEO Warren Rehn said in a statement.
